One of my recent projects was a bespoke evening gown for a client to wear at the upcoming Ivy Ball, an annual event in Hong Kong for the alumni of Ivy League universities. For this particular design two different tones of metallic beads were used against a purple satin fabric, giving it a luxurious and opulent feel. I hand sewed over 1,000 beads (a personal record!) to create a neckline detail that flows to the back of the gown.
The theme for this year's ball is "Silver Reflections", hence the silver beads were rather appropriate, don't you think?
